Academics

For anyone looking for an education that equals immediate job placement, there’s no better option in the greater Washington D.C. area than investing in an education from Sanz School, especially if learning English is at the forefront of your concerns. With a mind towards the future and the skills that you need now, those seeking an education in training will find that there’s no better way to get prepared for the world of working, with skills that are needed for a wide variety of careers easy to come by, thanks to well-qualified and intelligent professors, who are also professionals.

Originally, the purpose of Sanz School was for those interested in learning foreign languages to be equipped with the skills necessary to be prepared to work in foreign countries, often for the government. While this was the main focus from its founding in 1939 until the 1950s, the winds of change brought a shift to the purpose of the school, with instruction of international students in learning English becoming the school’s main focus. For over 60 years, the courses of study at Sanz School have been focused on this purpose, and the results have certainly paid off for countless numbers of graduates.

Throughout the years, Sanz School has added programs, including those in word processing and computer applications, earning accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education Training. HEalthcare training is now also available, in the form of both the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program and a general Medical Assisting Program. In addition to certificates and other designations, Sanz School offers associate’s degrees in a number of its programs, meaning that not only do students get the experience they need, they also earn a degree that makes continuing on to a four-year college significantly easier.

Students

With less than 1,000 students on the three different campuses, the community at Sanz School is very tight-knit and an excellent place to get a head start on learning skills needed in one’s career. Students come from a variety of backgrounds, some the children of immigrants and some those looking for training to start a completely new career and take life in a different direction. With a smaller student body, it means that personal attention from professors is much more abundant, and often times there are more internships and job placement opportunities available than in larger colleges where students can slip by unnoticed. With no on-campus housing, all students attending Sanz School are thus commuters. With students from so many different backgrounds, Sanz School is one of the few training schools that can say without a doubt that it actually boasts some serious diversity, meaning that students are often respectful of those from different backgrounds, fostering a genuine sense of community.

Athletics

With most programs at Sanz School lasting less than two years and a student body that is often more focused on learning job skills or perfecting their English-language skills than with extracurricular pursuits, there is no official organized sports on-campus. While sometimes students organize unofficial sporting events, for the most part those interested in athletics should look elsewhere, like a community league.
