Academics
At the Lebanon County Career Technology Center, or the Lebanon County Area Vocational Technical School, located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, high school and adult students are provided with the training they need to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen career paths. The goal at Lebanon is to help students find or excel in their career paths, to enjoy the personal and academic benefits of secondary education, and improve their overall lives. Since 1964 this public, certificate granting institution of higher learning, has provided such training to the local community, at the beginning with just 18 courses offered to students from six sending high school districts. After enjoying much increase in enrollment, Lebanon has expanded and has improved its programs and facilities to keep up with the demand for vocational and technical training.
The current Lebanon County Area Vocational Technical School is housed in a state-of-the-art facility equipped for real-world technical training. Students may elect to study in any one of 27 available programs, and enjoy the benefits of college articulation agreements and Cooperative Education. Daytime adult education runs for the full day and available programs include auto body technology, automotive technology, diesel truck technology, electrical technology, carpentry residential constructions, industrial machine technology, cosmetology, pastry arts, culinary arts and plumbing heating & air conditioning. Students may also elect to study in the licensed practical nursing program, which prepares them to take the NCLEX-PN Examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, or in “Tech Prep” or “School-to-Careers” which are linked to two-year college degree programs.
