Founded in 1960 as a liberal arts college, Ohio State University – Lima Campus is one of four regional campuses of Ohio State University. The campus is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has baccalaureate program accreditation with NCATE. The Lima campus offers 8 bachelor’s degree programs as well as 3 degree completion programs. Students can also choose from more than 160 majors, which can be started at Lima and finished at the Columbus campus. Some of the programs that are offered at this campus include Sociology, Psychology, Dental Hygiene, Chemistry, Business, Computer Science & Engineering, Allied Health Professions, Nursing, Music, and Education. Ohio State is ranked 18th in the United States for public schools and is ranked first in the state of Ohio.
Ohio State University – Lima Campus offers flexible class schedules that include a full daytime schedule, extended evening hours, and some weekend classes. The campus also offers small class sizes; the average class size is 21. Eight of the faculty members at this school have won the university’s prestigious Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. There is also a special honors program for exceptional students.
