    Admissions

    The application procedure for admission to Valdosta Technical College varies depending on the degree sought. Regardless of the degree or program, students must submit a completed Application for Admission and a non-refundable $15.00 fee. Students must indicate their residence status and provide proof of this status for admissions and tuition determination purposes. Official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary schools attended must also be included with the application packet. Students who have not taken the college’s placement test in the past five years must do so.

    Students enrolling in the non-credit continuing education section must submit the Application for Admission, but are not required to submit an application fee, undergo placement testing, or show proof of secondary education requirements.

    Local Community

    The local community in Valdosta is comprised of around 45,000 residents. Civic pride is common here, and the people are proud of their rich heritage and of the beauty of their city, which is commonly known as the “Azalea City” for the abundance of this lovely flower. The Azalea Festival is held every spring, and visitors come from all over to celebrate the magnificence of this traditionally Southern flower. Many of the city’s early structures, dating back to the mid-1800s, are still standing, and visitors marvel at the old Cat Creek Cemetary, the Lowndes County Courthouse, and the First Baptist Church.
