Sheridan Technical Center is a two-year vocational school located in Hollywood, Florida. Sheridan offers 35 workforce development programs including automotive, culinary arts and cosmetology. The school also has programs geared towards adults including the Adult Basic Education program and the Vocational Preparatory Instruction Center.
Sheridan provides a program that helps students prepare for their General Education Development test. The program prepares students in five areas including language arts, reading, writing/mathematics, science, and social studies.
The automotive programs at the school include advanced automotive technology, collision and repair and the Ford ASSET program. The ASSET program is a joint venture between the school and the Ford Motor Company to train skilled technicians to work on Ford cars. The program includes hands-on training coupled with real-world situations.
The Gaming Repair Technician Program teaches students special and routine maintenance on casino gambling machines. Students can enter the program for education in the 90 hour slot machine attendant or the 270 hour full course that teaches about casinos, hotels and tropical resorts.
Sheridan also promotes specialized postsecondary programs such as marketing and distribution education. High school students will have the opportunity to prepare themselves for employment in the retail industry as shipping and receiving clerk, cashier or retail sales clerk. Students will receive an education in sales techniques, customer service and human relations.
Sheridan also offers A+, Cisco and i-net training as well as many specialized business and information technology courses.
Sheridan Technical Center is accredited by many associations including The Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and The Florida State Board of Nursing among others.
