Introduction
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide (ERAU) traces its origins to the early 1970s, when Dr. Wilbur A. Middleton, a U.S. Army officer at Fort Rucker, approached the school’s president, Jack Hunt, with the idea of establishing a college to offer credit degrees to Army aviators for their military technical training.
As the name suggests, this school is composed of more than 130 distance learning centers, many situated at community colleges and military bases, offering a wide variety of academic degree programs to students across the globe.
