Academics
Founded in 1929 by Richard S. Stephens in San Francisco, the Academy of Art University is the largest private art and design school in America offering state of the art technology, facilities, and tools. The school offers the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Fine Arts
- Bachelor of Arts
- Associate of Arts
- Master of Fine Arts
- Master of Arts
- Master of Architecture
Art students can attend classes on campus or participate in the online program while working towards an undergraduate, graduate, or continuing education program. The Academy also offers a comprehensive Liberal Arts program, and all degrees have Liberal Arts requirements that need to be completed prior to graduation.
Currently, there are 23 areas of art for students to study about and students, especially those not sure which area to pursue, are encouraged to enroll in various courses in order to discover the right education fit. Fashion, art history, graphic design, and photography are some of the courses students come to the Academy to study.
